Harmony Dreamers – “Without You”

As I sit back to hear the new release by the Harmony Dreamers of “Without You” I am sitting alone in the studio with only a light and thoughts of the upcoming new year. This song has a great melody and I would say that the hook is well repeated more than enough to get the point across. Choice Instrumentation

The song “Without You” is heavy on keyboard sounds and the arrangement puts me in the mind of a Pink Floyd style song. This is not only in the arrangement but in some of the choices of instrumentation and the treatment thereof.

I am particularly impressed with the piano. It feels like a close between a grand and an electric grand being very round and sharp sounding. The artist or arranger uses effects that are quite reminiscent of the Dark Side Of The Moon CD and yet I hear some Beatle style harmonies in there.

More than a Feeling

Once you set back and simply listen to the song it is very easy to drift off to a better place. Well, okay a better place for some of us aging hippies. But still I feel the urge to take something to unleash my inner summer of love person and just be. Not caring and just experiencing and enjoying the life and music around me. This song takes you there.

In Conclusion

After all, music is meant to chase our cares away and to take us to another time and place. I can certainly say that the Harmony Dreamers have done just that in the tune “Without You”.
