“This Baby Boy” as performed by Ludlow Creek is a nice Christmas song. That is something that a lot of writers shy away from in the world today. There is a nicely rounded mix of the instruments. It has a nice over all feel but if I were to interject something here, I think that it lacks the sheen that usually comes with religious style Christmas tunes. It is not bad it just is the truth. Most of the big label releases in this style of music just have more polish. Read on for more about “This Baby Boy” by Ludlow Creek song review by music critic Dashal Jennings.

Bells are ringing

By that I mean the bells and choir sounds on a major release are almost in your face with lots of air. If I were to guess on this thing I would say that the engineers were going for more of a subdued and easy to listen to sound. The drums are nice and full with great reverb which feels like a nice 1980’s record. The chord pattern is constantly going to things you may not expect them to go. The vocalist has a strong and easy to hear voice and the lead guitar and piano are good. In fact some of the licks are even close to awesome.

This Baby Boy

The song “This Baby Boy” itself is very listenable and the lyrics are very well layered and bring the focus of the song right where the Ludlow Creek was trying to go. I know that in the market today if one person makes something work everyone follows. To that end I would like to say that we all have become accustomed to hearing almost annoyingly crisp and sharp audio with our music.

In Conclusion

After you listen to this one a few times it becomes almost refreshing to hear the music almost becomes analog rather than digital sounding. Maybe that is where Ludlow Creek was going with “This Baby Boy”. I mean albums made of vinyl are making a comeback so maybe this will catch on. This song gets a solid 4 Stars from this music critic.
