Tim Eaton The Country Network

Tim Eaton The Country Network has a new owner. The Daily Banner recently interviewed Tim Eaton about his recent purchase of The Country Network.  He had a lot to say and talked about the vision his company has for the network.  He wants to bring the network to new levels while introducing the world to some Independent artists that spend 200 days a year traveling around the country singing their songs.  The network will also be introducing the genres of Americana, Red Dirt and Texas Music. Tim Eaton The Country Network owner said they will continue playing great Country Music but they are definitely expanding their horizons.

The Daily Banner (TDB):  I had been talking to Tim Eaton The Country Network owner just a few minutes and I can really feel your excitement and man I have got to tell you, you’re contagious. Tim Eaton The Country Network new owner, what are your plans for the network?

TIM EATON (TE):    I’m about original programming. I have a facility and that is what we do. I am wide open to listen to great ideas.  We are going to run music videos but we also want original programming.  Did you know that 45% of the country loves Country Music?  It is the #1 genre.

TDB:  It absolutely is you know that 1970’s rock is very similar to today’s country?

TE:  I am a big Eagles fan.

TDB: I knew you were going there.

We started talking about how many rock acts are now crossing over into country and recording country albums and this is what he had to say:

TE: I am a big Eagles fan and all the stuff that they were doing, it was even getting to the point that even Glen said that after Desperado, even the record label said they made a cowboy album. They had a real country flair to them, you know Bernie Leadon playing the banjo on “Take it Easy.” That sounds like country to me. Those are some easy crossovers right there.  People that were in rock, soft rock, classic rock that want to slide over but I think the guys from Smack mouth or something like that and the guy did a country song.  When I listened to it and I thought, you know if you didn’t look at him, you wouldn’t know that he was a heavy metal guy.

TDB: Close your eyes don’t look.

TE: Don’t look Ethel (in his best Ray Steven’s voice.) (Laughter)

TDB: (Laughter) Ray Steven’s has a new show.  So back to ‘The Country Network,’ what are some of your goals?

TE: For us it is about the Independent Artists and trying to find more of those.  I love the idea of the crossover.

TDB: First and foremost you wanted to purchase this network because you are a country music fan, correct?

TE:  Yes, I am an 8th Generation brought up and raised on country music.  Loretta Lynn and Johnny Cash played in our house all the time.

TDB:  Awe, that is so sweet.

TE:  My mother passed away several weeks ago. My Dad wanted the song, “May the Circle Be Unbroken,” and he wanted Johnny singing it.  Well, we found one with Johnny and June Cash and that is what we played at my mother’s funeral.

TDB:  I am so sorry to hear that.  You are doing business as usual and you are in a grieving process right now?

TE:  That is true. Everybody asks me how I am doing and I say: “well if I stay busy with work and work is very busy I am fine.” It is when I go that it hits me. I brought her to my house when they put her on hospice. She was diagnosed with ovarian cancer and gone six weeks later.

TDB:  So staying busy with re-launching TCN is helping you?

TE:  We are re-launching TCN and getting away from the name ZUUZ COUNTRY and going back to the original name of THE COUNTRY NETWORK.

Side Effects While Kamagra does have its side effects cialis fair share of side effects as well. TDB: And I have to tell you that you have been totally enjoyable to talk to you.

TE:  I can put my work-face on.  Like I said, I took Mom home with me to spend her last 6 weeks with me so going home is a challenge.  Every time I listen to country music it brings back the love that my Mom had for country music. Her Daddy danced across the country to Hank Williams.  My Mom grew up two little towns over from Willie Nelson so they knew of him at a young age.  They’d go see Ernest Tubb when he would come through town. They all grew up on the cotton fields so one of those artists would come through town and they only had to drive a few miles to get there, they would go listen to them. Country music is in my blood.

TDB:  Do you want to give me a quote about Merle Haggard?

TE: Losing Merle hurt because I really liked what he and Willie did just recently.  You know you have probably seen some of the videos.  I was watching that going these guys are getting old. It’s only a matter of time. We are not going to have these two legends and a couple of weeks later he was gone. Merle was going to do a duet album with Loretta Lynn and that is the thing that is disappointing to me because she was one of my Mom’s favorites of all time was going to be doing a duet album with Merle Haggard who I have always loved, you know, the working man.

Tim Eaton The Country Network

TDB:  Well and that is exactly what he was.

With that we spoke a little while longer about things I won’t publish here and said our goodbye.  Tim Eaton is a fantastic guy with a wonderful vision and The Daily Banner can’t wait to see what he does with ‘The Country Network.’  We had a great time with Tim Eaton The Country Network owner.
