Best Male Actor

Maurice Bernard took home the Emmy for best male actor.  He came out and did a really deep speech.  He actually seemed more sad than happy about the award. He said this storyline was very hard to do. He commented that ‘ALZHIMER’S DISEASE” was the star of the show. It seems he didn’t want to honor it. In fact, he seems to despise.  People that have watched their loved ones pass from Alzheimer’s disease like Glen Campbell’s family know how insidiously it destroys and kills.

In Conclusion

The long running ABC soap made the fans very proud tonight. It also reminds the fans to remind ABC that they need to get another soap back on the air in daytime. None of the shows that replaced “All My Children” or “One Life To Live,’ have ever won anything.  They may get nominated here and there but they don’t win.  ABC might want to combine their two cancelled soaps since they both take place in fictional towns in PA and call it “All My Children’s Lives To Live” or for short “My Children’s Lives”  These are now multigeneration shows. The name would work.

    1. I would love to see AMC and OLTL back. If it has to be a different name that works for me too as long as some of the original members are on it.

    2. I agree with the writer of this article. Daytime TV has not been the same since ABC canceled AMC and OLTL. The network needs to realize that soaps/telenovelas aren’t going anywhere. Countries around the world like Korea, Philippines and Mexico are successfully creating daytime drama. These shows are thriving because Americans are hooked. ABC pay attention.
