It has taken me a few days to get over the shock of her death.  Ruth Bader Ginsberg was one of a kind.  To replace her is impossible.  This president or the next might find a new 9th but that is where that ends.  On this first Sunday after Ruth’s passing, I want to shine a light on the stunning yet subtle brilliance of Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

Just 5 foot 1

Standing just past 5 feet tall, there has never been a bigger giant in the Supreme Court.  Ruth made and left such an impression on so many. I am no exception. After spending 16 years in law, I can say she was an inspiration and a mentor.  She said what she meant, many times with long pauses in between her thoughts.  RBG always thought before she spoke. Ruth more than anyone realized that words were weapons.  She used them for good.

Equal Rights

She fought for equal rights not just for women but for men also when their rights to be a stay at home Dad were denied.  Ginsburg took her personal experiences, especially when they were discriminatory and made, amended or changed laws.

She put 150% into everything she did. That included being a wife and mother. When she saw a wrong she would right it if it were in her power to do so.  She was unbiased, fair and knowledgeable. She was lovable, so very lovable as seen by the outpouring of love and admiration outside the Supreme Court Building in DC.

Ruth toiled away the days in that building making good change where good change could be made.  Many times having to be escorted home by her husband who knew she would stay until the job was done.  Many nights not eating or sleeping until a decision or dissention was written.

Notorious RBG

When RUTH BADER GINSBURG was dubbed NOTORIOUS RBG she was amused and even a bit honored.  She knew where the name came from and remarked that both she and Notorious BIG were both from Brooklyn.

Last Wishes

She fought several cancers, and buried her beloved Marty.  She lived through so much and devoted her life for the betterment of others.  The very least we could do as a Nation is honor her last wish.  She dictated a last wish request to her granddaughter.  It was simply this.  “Please do not replace me until another President is installed.”   I don’t think there is any reason why we can’t wait a few months.  We should honor her request and remember the Stunning yet subtle Brilliance of Ruth Bader Ginsberg.

Covid-19 Milestone and Impeached President

Let’s not forget that tonight we are hitting a milestone of 200,000 Americans dead because of Trumps mishandling of Covid-19.  He is and will always be an Impeached President. Can someone ask the question how and impeached President would have the right to name a new Justice in the first place?
