John Vento

Nied’s Hotel Band “The Day the Lady Cried” Music Review

Upon hearing the first verse I immediately wanted to know more about the vocalist. Turns out it is a talented guy named John Vento.  Below is an excerpt from his bio:

John is often called a chameleon in the Pittsburgh music scene; and, while his critics may use the term as a pejorative, Vento views it as a compliment. He understands that they’re motivated by the frustration of their inability to lock him into a specific musical style. After all, the front man for the high-energy, hard-rockin’ band, the Nied’s Hotel Band, is also known for his introspective, brooding solo recordings.

It is easy to see how the above is true.  I am definitely hearing a bit of Bruce Springsteen in this man’s singing style; however his vocals are better than Bruce.  I know I will get some grief for that statement from Springsteen fans but I call them as I see them.  Take a listen for yourself.

Musicality

The musicality in this song is flawless.  Everything happens at the right time in the right way.  The drum beats kick off the song first quietly, and then the crescendo that brings in the vocals. You get the immediate notion that there will be some American Pride happening in this song.  After listening to the song, I went on the hunt for the Music Video and found it on YouTube.

It is entirely evident that this band is oozing talent and professionalism from seasoned musicians. Certainly, these guys make it look easy and sound pristine. Consequently, I can’t wait to listen to some of their other music.  Check them out at their home on the internet by going to: https://niedshotelband.com/

I would award this song 5 STARRY NOTES out of 5 STARRY NOTES as I can’t find anything I don’t like about the song.  Thank you for reading Nied’s Hotel Band “The Day the Lady Cried” Music Review.
