Take Me As I Am

Greg Wilson has been through a lot this last decade including surviving strokes and battling bladder cancer.  Not only is he still here, he has released a new album entitled, “Take Me As I Am.”  The album has 10 songs on it. Story Songs

Each song on this album tells a story:  The titled cut, “Take Me As I Am,” is a southern rock tune that’s title is self explanatory. The rest are as follows:

  1. Take Me As I Am:  Southern Rock Tune about being accepted are you are;
  2. 298: This song is a tribute to the victims of the Malaysian Jet Crash;
  3. Cope: Learning to cope and adjusting with a different life after a stroke;
  4. Dashboard Jesus: Chronicles the struggle of a Veteran dealing with alcoholism;
  5. Dump Trump: A tongue in cheek song about the ridiculousness of Donald Trump;
  6. Summer Loving: Romance during the summertime;
  7. Human Race: Looks at the journey through the Covid Pandemic;
  8. Blue Skies: Reminds us all that things are going to get better;
  9. Dime Store Santa: What lies behind Santa’s smile is not always a happy story;
  10. Deep Water: Co-written with Greg’s good friend Kim Carerre who recently passed away from Pancreatic Cancer.  Greg wanted to make sure that this song was released on a project that he could share with Kim’s family and friends.

Greg is married to one of his co-writers Donna. In December they released a Christmas album entitled, “Home Spun Christmas.” It is notable that Greg is a recent cancer and stroke survivor. His health has all but changed their lives as gigging and touring are not a possibility.
