Joey Feek gained her angel wings

Joey Feek gained her angel wings yesterday, Friday, March 4, 2016 at 2:30 p.m. Her battle with cancer was public but her funeral will be private.  Joey casket was hand made by a good friend of the family’s and was delivered to Indiana several months ago.

The Daily Banner can only imagine that today, that casket made with love and caring carrying Joey’s earthly remains is heading to the family farm in Tennessee.

Joey’s body will be laid to rest next to Rory’s mother on the family farm.  Her spirit is already there waiting for her husband and daughters to come home.

This is what Rory said in his last blog post:

“After four-and-a-half months in Indiana, we will soon be home in Tennessee, me and our little one, with our older daughters.  It’s hard for me to imagine being there without Joey, but at the same time… it is where she wants us to be.  It’s where she will be…  She’s gonna be in the mint growing beside our back deck, the sweet-corn frozen in our freezer and a million other places that her hand and heart has touched around our little farmhouse and community.  Joey will still be with us, everywhere.

So if it’s okay, I’m gonna close, wipe my tears and pack our bags to hit the road headed south.  She’s already got a head-start on me.”

The Daily Banner hopes that Rory continues to write in his blog and sharing his life and the life of Indiana with us as everyone has really grown to love the entire family.  Little Indy has become country music’s baby girl and we sure would love to keep in touch.
