UK TOUR
The John O’Brien Experience is heading across the pond for an unforgettable 6-stop tour across the UK this July. John O’Brien, also known as and billed as ‘J.O.B.E’, has seven albums under his belt with one set to be released in May to kick off his six city UK Tour in July. The tour will follow in the steps of the shows the artist has performed over his legendary four decade+ career that has seen him perform across the US, Madrid, Amsterdam, Tokyo, Sydney, and the Caribbean. About John O’Brien
The first person to influence John was his mother. She was a very strong conservationist.
She was also an avid oil painter and painted many scenes of nature and animals as they live in
the wild. When he was very young they lived in Kansas where the tornadoes would rip through the land. Some of those tornadoes are actually some of his first memories. His family moved around a lot, but they always lived in rural areas. Several times they lived on farms. He learned to milk cows before he could read. When he was seven years old his parents bought a piano and that’s when he started his music career.
Teenage years
As a teenager three things happened to John that kind of guided him to where he is now. He was an
avid skier, so he was always out in the environment. He spent summers in New Bedford,
Massachusetts on the ocean. At 12 and 13 years old he crewed on a sailboat that would sail all
around Buzzards Bay which is a huge bay just south of Cape Cod. The second thing that
happened was after studying piano he learned to play guitar and sing.
He remembers vividly being out on the water and listening to radio pop and rock songs for the first time in his life. The third thing that happened was when he returned home one fall, he started a band so he could perform. As a young teenager, they performed in events for older students and saw what their
older counterparts were doing. It was eye opening. He is still close to the players who were in
that band when he was just a very young teenager.
