Chris Marion, the keyboard player affectionately known as Maestro and who charted the arrangements had this to say:  “Our brand-new recording features the greatest hits you know and love along with orchestration by me. We are so excited to finally offer you this collection compiled from several live orchestra shows over the last couple of years. Since it represents something so personal to me, I wanted to share a little about how it came to fruition. A few years ago, we were presented with an opportunity to do a summer tour with the band Kansas. The only catch was that it would be a series of orchestra shows. Although our band had performed with orchestras in various iterations, there was certainly no contemporary collection of orchestral arrangements for any of the hits, let alone versions representative of the latest arrangements. Commissioning orchestral arrangement is pretty cost prohibitive.

In a moment of sheer lunacy and bravado, I offered to give a song or two a shot. Classical piano training as a child and a year or so as a music major in college should be more than adequate to compose over a thousand bars of music for instruments that I don’t play, right? While I might be minimizing my training for the sake of a good story, this was still a massive challenge to create compositions for each song that captured the individual nuances of each instrument weaving together into a work that ultimately honored the song itself.

Creating these arrangements was undoubtedly a labor of love. Every time I stand in front of a group of extremely talented instrumentalists who are playing these notes with the same passion I had when creating them, it is truly a humbling moment. What a great honor and privilege to experience this!”

    1. I was very impressed with the clarity of both the instruments and the voices on these arrangements. Of course, Little River Band consistently offers beautiful harmonies on their songs but the extra orchestration on this CD is superb. I always strive for a live experience, but when I can’t go to the shows, this CD provides a beautiful substitute.

    2. Little River Band NEVER disappoints!

Even in the middle of a pandemic; they knocked it out of the park!

Chris Marion is amazing! Love this CD as much as all the others I own!

Thanks for keeping the good music alive! ❤️

    3. I’ve known Chris since the early 90s, and never had any idea he had the ability to do what he did with the orchestra arrangements. I work for the band as FOH engineer and it is such a pleasure every time we do an orchestra show to hear the them play the songs.
