Holly Dunn battling cancer as she recently confirmed her diagnosis during a recent interview. Country Aircheck confirmed the news, saying that Dunn has been diagnosed with ovarian cancer and that she is currently undergoing chemotherapy treatments in New Mexico, where she lives.
This is what Holly said during that interview, “I was diagnosed with a rare,very aggressive form of ovarian cancer. If you read the statistics, it is very bleak. Good thing I don’t believe in statistics! I had surgery and now I am having chemo treatments. I have since grown more tumors and it is going to be more of a battle than I anticipated.” Dunn followed up that statement by saying,
“I have a huge faith in the healing power of God and the healing power within me that originates from my God,” she said, going on to add, “But I also draw tremendous strength from my family and my family of friends who have gathered around me in total support.”
Holly Dunn battling cancer and the 59 year old Dunn made this announcement just one day after her birthday. The country music icon is best known for her #1 hits “Are You Ever Gonna Love Me” and “You Really Had Me Going,” has been diagnosed with cancer.
Dunn has released ten albums and charted a total of 19 singles before retiring from country music in 2003. She is also a member of the Grand Ole Opry and served as the co-host of The Nashville Network’s Opry Backstage.
